I am a qualified Life Coach, Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Trainer specialising in stress and anxiety relief.
I trained as an Integrative therapist which means that I use a combined approach of specific elements of various theoretical orientations. I take the view that no single theoretical approach can comprehensively cover the complexities of human behaviour when considering the wide range of personalities and problems. Therefore using an Integrative approach allows me to tailor our sessions to fit your individual needs and personal circumstances, drawing from the wealth of models and techniques available.
My background in health and wellbeing for over 27 years’ includes living and working all around the world as an Holistic Healthcare Practitioner and Fitness Professional. I initially trained as a body worker providing touch therapy for many years which later led me to study and qualify in talking therapies. This holistic view – that the mind and body are integrated and inseparable – allows me to support you to make a better mind-body connection which is pivotal to good mental health.
In my work as a coach-therapist it has been my great privilege to work with hundreds of clients, workshop participants, students and colleagues on an individual 1:1 basis and also in groups, assisting them to learn new coping strategies and build new thoughts and habits that support their happiness and wellbeing. This has included teaching Mindfulness to children in schools, working with groups of stressed and anxious adults, delivering wellbeing in the workplace seminars to teachers in schools and staff and their teams in places of business, public speaking at events, retreats and groups, etc. Another aspect of my work is that I founded a life coaching group where I mentored and provided support for fellow coaches and student coaches of The Coaching Academy
Continuing Professional Development
I continue to invest in my professional development through studying and regularly attending courses. This enables me to stay abreast of the latest information and ways of working with my clients, to create the ability for change and to find new and more productive ways forward. I am currently studying a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
