Hello and welcome!
I am a Trauma Recovery Psychotherapist working with women who are juggling life and suffering on the inside.
My name is Caroline King, I am a qualified trauma Counsellor and Psychotherapist and Nervous System Regulation Specialist.
I am registered and accredited with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and I’m a registered Bupa Healthcare provider.
I’ve been working in private practice for the past nine years, specialising in trauma recovery for women using body-centred modalities such as Polyvagal therapy, somatic awareness and sensorimotor techniques to restore safety, emotional regulation, and connection.
My path into Counselling and Psychotherapy began long before I formally trained; it was shaped by thirty five years of working in health and wellbeing – educating, presenting and supporting people to understand and recover from the effects of stress and trauma.
Those years profoundly shaped how I understand human patterns and how the body holds our experiences.
Trauma therapy is relational, clinical, nuanced work that’s rooted in neuroscience, and trauma theory.
My professional background and continued interest in neurobiology has always led me to support both the physiological and psychological elements of therapy.
Overcoming my own personal traumas has inspired me to support other women through their struggles.
I want all of my clients to find inner peace and happiness – particularly when other therapies have failed them.
I don’t fit into the typical mainstream type of therapy where you only talk and I only listen. We have discussions, collaborate together, and I help to make it much easier for you to learn what can be done differently to feel better.
I don’t ask “How does that make you feel?” I guide you to find more helpful ways to access and process difficult emotions.
My clients say I am very easy to talk to, that I explain things clearly and they gain clarity about what is happening in their body.
